Macallan 12- Fine or Sherry Oak?

Hey Folks,

Macallan 12 comes up pretty often in conversations about 'good start scotches'. Quick question though- are people referring to the fine oak or sherry oak variety?

Almost certainly the regular sherried one. They came out "fine oak" series just a few years ago when they had a problem with sherry cask supply, and they're not really the same thing at all. Macallan is pretty much synonymous with sherry!
