What's new

Looking to upgrade

Hello all, I have been shaving with a DE for about a year now and I love it. I currently have a C&E brush and I would like to upgrade or just try something new. Any ideas?

Hello Paul,
What is your budget and what size are you looking to purchase. Personally, I am biased towards Shavemacs and Thaters. They are exceptional brushes for extremely reasonable prices. You can pick up 22-23mm knot size for ~$120-$140-ish. You can certainly go more expensive with the D01 and handle types.

Cheers,
Robert

Hey Robert, my price range is around $100. I am not sure what size brush I should be looking into. Do you know a good overall brush size?

I don't know about D01 brush but I just got #177 and love it. Mine came out $85 with free shipping. fits well in your budget

Simpsons Duke 2 in Best. My favorite brush in the sub-$100 price range - it's so good that it's worth its weight in gold!

Other than Harry's mysterious offer... Re-knot a brush yourself!

All of the options you guys have sent look great. I think I might go with the Shavemac, which one I don't know just yet.

Luc, the re knot may be out of my league right now but could be fun to try!

Shavemac Finest is, imo, the best value. You can get one with a 22mm knot and 45 to 50mm loft for under $100. Just email Bernd at Shavemac with you handle choice and knot dimensions, and he'll make the brush of your dreams. Also, if you find a standard Shavemac offering on their website, you can email it to Bernd and request one with whatever loft you like for no additional charge.

Rudy Vey also makes some great looking brushes with a lot of different hair grades. Very good pricing on those.
