Looking for V-neck sweaters

Versatile V-neck sweaters to be worn at the office, or weekends too, that are durable and can handle washings and won't leave a residue of fibers on your dress shirt when you take them off. The cheaper the better although sometimes I know "you get what you pay for."

Does anyone have a brand/model they'd recommend?

Tommy Hilfiger makes some good quality v-necks are reasonable price points, especially if you get them at an outlet store.

Any good wool sweater should only be washed by hand, and laid flat on a towel to dry. If you are lookin for "durable" and machine washable, you will probably be looking for something with a high polyester %, which won't be too attractive.

I prefer J. Crew. They have a nice wool cashmire blend sweater that is timeless and traditional. I think quality makes a statement and you do get what you pay for. They are below $75 and will last for years with proper care.

most sweaters nowadays are paper thin and used for "show" and " fashion" statements...a real heavy duty sweater that lasts for 10 years is hard to find...I imagine ireland still has the famous irish wool sweaters,look online..if you want a sweater for warmth,it should be thick ,well woven,strong and have a little weight to it
