Looking for a good lotion for fighting free radicals

I work in a very polluted environment where there are a lot of smokers and diesel vehicle fumes. I know this stuff is taking its toll on my face. I currently use Lab Series Daily Moisture Defense Lotion but am looking to see if anyone might have a suggestion for something better.

Also, does anyone put lotion on after ASB?

Thanks!

You may want to do a search for products that contain Peptide 6 or hyaluronic acid. Both of these help heal your skin for damage and are considered good anti-aging agents.

I use a zinc oxide based sunblock (Hara or Burnout) after alum and/or an alcohol based aftershave. Can't say about free radicals, but protects against radiation :tongue_sm and I think that it helps soothe any irritation that I may have from shaving.

Eating a diet top-heavy with fresh fruits and vegetables as well as whole grains while reducing the red meat you consume will do more good for your skin than any overpriced lotion can.

Hey winky,

You may be interested in Imedeen for Men, an anti-aging supplement that is great for mens skincare. It works from the inside out, in comparison to lotions. Imedeen are doing a 3for2 offer at the moment, have a look here: http://men.imedeen.co.uk/

Neutrogena makes a anti-oxidant line that claims to neutralize free radicals. I haven't tried the lotion, but I've been using the cleanser for a while and noticed a visible difference in my skin after just a few days. Plus, you can probably get it at your neighborhood drugstore.

Be careful with hyaluronic acid it can draw water from the skin if the air humidity is low.

Vit C is really unstable once it is in added to water, so almost all products you buy with it will be oxidized and infact cause more problems. There are some more stable forms but you'll end up paying for them (and there effects aren't so will tried, thou none are really properly tested). Vit C can irritate the skin too.

I don't really know of a barrier type product that will protect the skin from smoke / fumes. I'd have thou if it was possible the best thing would be just to rinse the face a few times a day.

Anti-oxidant damage mainly occurs from within. You need to up your internal "Super Oxide Dismutase" and "Glutathione" stores to quench free-radical damage...and this is what shows up on the outside i.e. good skin.

A great product is GliSODin, available from iherb.com at a great price. It is a totally natural product which will upregulate your SOD and Glutathione stores and help your body quench all those smoke and diesel fumes and all the other nasty things.
