Lime soap/AS

Hi!

I love everything that smells or tastes lime, so I asked myself, why not try lime shaving products.

I've heard of the Geo F Trumper lime soap and their limes skin food AS and I was wondering if they are "the best" lime products available or if you have even other lime soap/AS to suggest me.

My only experience is with Mike's Natural Lime and Pinaud Lime Sec.

Mike's is described as a "pure Lime scent" made with Lime Essential Oil. It has all of the great qualities of Mike's soaps, with a great lime scent that is perfect for hot summer says.

Pinaud's Lime Sec is an inexpensive drugstore Lime that some describe as too sweet. To my nose, it does smell sweet sniffing the bottle. however there's something about how it acts with my bodies chemistry to make for a pleasant lime experience.

On my lime wait list is:

RazoRock's new King of the Castle Lime soap.
Captain's choice Lime
St. Charles Shave Lime splash.

I love Mike's lime as well. For softer "croap" (?) I like my RazoRock Lime - not as strong or intense, but it is a nice lime. There may also be a Kiss My Face lime as well.

I tried samples of the GFT limes cream and skin food. The cream smelled amazing when I opened the jar, but once it was whipped up into a warm lather it wasn't anywhere near as fresh and nice. The skin food smelled lovely but just didn't suit my skin.

I've also heard good things about Mike's natural Lime - one to try in the future. For now though, my citrus cravings are satisfied with TOBS grapefruit. It is sensational.

For AS, try Stephen Island Lime, or Gabels Lime. Nice, straight lime smell. If you want somethign more like a lime lollipop, try the Pinaud Lime Sec.

The Kiss My Face Lime is very nice. I have not tried a lime aftershave yet.

T&H has a spiced up aftershave splash and cologne compared to the competition.
GFT lime aftershave and cologne for a quality base lime only scent.
Captain's Choice lime aftershave has great scent and some kick. Burns me more than Co9T.
GFT lime skin food is a nice scent, calms the skin and is protective.
T&H for shave cream and bath soaps in lime.

For a lime aftershave, treat yourself to some Royall Lymes. It smells great and feels great - the only downside is that like all lime aftershaves, it fades away.

p.s. The Geo F Trumpers creams are outstanding, but their soaps are nowhere close to the same level of quality. I have tried two different pucks of Rose soa; one was so bad it became a nicely scented bath soap that didnt lather worth a tinker's damn, the other will produce a serviceable shaving lather with enough hot water soaking and loading my brush like I am on a vendetta.

I believe that the reformulations / quality control issues make buying Geo F Trumper soaps an expensive gamble. You can make your own decision, but caveat emptor

I use GFT skin food and I love it. The smell is great, kind of like a key lime. It also makes my face feel wonderful and doesn't have that balm coating. I live in a hot and humid climate and I'm not a fan of balm when I sweat from dusk to dawn.

I really like the T&H cream and aftershave balm. Lathers very well and I would say the scent is 7/10 but doesn't last long which I like due to I wear cologne.

I love citrus scents but CF Lime Shaving Cream had the worst scent I have ever smelled.

Update - got my tin of Mike's lime today. A much stronger lime scent than the RazoRock, which is quite subtle. The Mike's is not subtle at all, which is exactly how I like my lime.

QCS Key Lime & Stephan Island Lime go well together, very Natural non-sweet Lime scent.

I tried the GFT limes skin food. I didn't find it had any lime fragrance. It was also a little on the watery side for my liking. I prefer a creamer skin food or after shave lotion.

I put a few drops of lime essential oil in my unscented Kanwa aftershave balm. Smells great from the lime and does a great job like the Kanwa should!

I've only used GFT Violet which makes a really great lather. I do, currently use the Lime skin food and I love it. Not only does it smell great but it really nixes any irritation and keeps your face really smooth. I got the bottle about 3 days ago and since then my Proraso has been put in the corner.
