Large Safety Razor

I was wondering if any of you know where I might get a blade for the large razor I obtained last week (see photo below)? It does not seem to take a regular 3-hole Gillette blade.

OMG, Jerry, that tops it all!!!!

Where do you get these things???? I request, no, I insist, wait, I demand, that you pack it and ship to my home address without delay!

Does it have the Gillette logo on it? I would name it the "Big Boy"!

Hi Arik,

I'll ship it as soon as I can. You might want to sit on your porch with several meals and changes of clothing. It might be some time before it gets there. There are no logos or indications of a manufacturer on the razor.

Isn't that pictured in the Krumholtz book?? You have to take a picture with a person holding that (not Shaq, though!).

That's what I say- if only that person can be ME!

Nice catch. Jerry, really, even without a logo. But I will bet this was still a Gillette item. Any chance we can get to get close to this puppy at the Meeting in October?

You're very perceptive. Yes, Barbara Ciccone in Krumholtz's book is holding a similar, if not identical, razor to the one I have. So now we know there are at least two of these razors in the world.

Yes, I plan to bring it to the Shaving Collectibles Extravaganza meeting in October. For those of you who haven't heard about the meeting, go to:

wooah!

where did you get it?

I got it from a place on the Internet called 1stdibs.com. It was from one of the stores at the site called Splendid Peasant. I was told it came from Ypsilanti, Michigan, and used as a display item in an apothecary.
