Years ago I used to unload and reload my duty magazines daily thinking that would lengthen their life but found that it weekend the springs causing jams. I talked to a gunsmith and was told to stop doing that and my magazine springs last way longer.
I can remember when the floor was close enough I could just bend over and pat it with my palm. But it's much further away now, I can hardly reach it with my finger tips.
I get it now.
