Just When Things Were Settling Down - The 1520 Appears

Man, I've just bought a Boreal too...... when I finally decide on getting a new boar brush, I just know they'll be out of stock.

I purchased one of these from Leon and am waiting for it to arrive.
I am hoping this will work for both face and bowl lathering.

Oh boy we're in trouble... Leon added even more brushes today!

2040 - Silvertip
2040HD - Extra Dense Silvertip
2020 - Best Badger
1800 - Boar
1460 - Boar
1470 - Boar
1250 - Boar

I like the shapes of some of the handles, but I'm just not sure I like the look of that silver metal ring at the base of the bristles...

Imagine the Boreal 976 without clipped bristles. That's the Semogue 1520. I have sensitive skin, so I found the 976 much too harsh. The 1520 gave me scrubby that my face could handle. It works very well with soaps and average with creams (like most other boars). I highly recommend the Semogue 1520 if you were looking to buy a Boreal 976 before they were discontinued, or found the 976 too scrubby.

I have a Boreal 976, and found it to be really soft.

I'm totally mad about that acrylic handled brush. Very nice!

Oh come on guys. These boar brushes are cheap compared to badger! Imagine what it's like for us guys with badger SBAD. It's like buying 30 of those!

How many is TOO Many Joe?
Gary I gave this some thought and started getting a headache. You know it when you see it. Too many is when you are convinced, beyond all doubt that you don't need or want another brush. When some just aren't getting used enough. And then, you see that beautiful vintage handle and wonder what a Shavemac knot, with a bit shorter loft and a bit more dense than your current 177 would be like sitting pretty in there??.....

That's interesting to hear since I was thinking about buying the 976 a while back, but eventually I got a 1520. How does the loft of the 976 compare to that of the 1520? I always thought the 1520 was smaller and that the 976 was denser.
