Hi folks,
Just got this beauty:

Ordered it from The English Shaving Company here.
The leather case is just wonderful - the leather is high quality, nice and the case itself has a very strong structure. It would do well in a suitcase. Also has the two slots for storing blades, which is convenient for travellers. The only thing I need now is a proper travel brush.. =)
back to the DE89 barley... shaved with it today, with a brand new Gilette 7 o'clock blade from my sampler pack. It feels and handles great - it's just a tad lighter than my Merkur 34C... I definitely find the 34C to be more grippy - I don't have to worry as much about slipping from my fingers, but as long as I rinse the handle periodically during my shave or don't allow the lather to drip down the handle, no grip issues. It is as reviewed by many others here, more forgiving than the 34C, and yet I was able to get a much closer shave. Shaving still takes me about 45-60 minutes, but that's because I'm really taking my time to focus on pressure and angle. Today was probably the best shave I've had since starting about a month ago...
Now... to start building up my pre-shave/shaving soap/cream/aftershave balm acquisition disorder pursuits..... haha.
Thanks to everyone here for all the knowledge and sharing! It really helps out new converts like myself =)
