What's new

Just finished a tube of L'occitane CADE...

Today, I just finished a 5.2 ounce tube of L'Occitane CADE shaving cream. It was an impulse buy before I checked out the reviews here (my wife liked the scent); I will never make that mistake again.

I would have thrown it out, but I'm just too cheap. I just could not force myself to admit that I wasted $28, so I forced myself to use all of it, day after day. I tried to whip it into a lather, as a brush-less cream and finally as a super lather.

It was, hands down, the worst cream I have tried yet.

Thanks for the info. I always figured it was overpriced and skipped it. Now I am glad.

Creams seem to be easy to suck. More often than not I am disappointed with a cream. I need to just stick to my soaps.

When creams are on (T&H Rose, Proraso), they are frickin' on. When, however, they're off, they suck. I don't think there's a greater dichotomy between L'Occitane soap and cream. It boggles the mind how one company could get one product so right and another so wrong.

The soap is great, and don't skip the Cade ASB based on the cream, either. It's expensive, too, but very very good.

The splash smells fantastic but there is something in it that irritates my skin. There are some spice scent in there that must cause a reaction with my skin. My face turns red and feels warm for way-too-long compared to other alcohol splashes. Perhaps the balm would be better in my case.

I heartily second the recommendation of the soap. Excellent lather and it is actually priced inline with other soaps (currently $10 on the website). Don't bother with the bowl.

I like the cream it just takes a bit more to do the job. I agree it is expensive but I enjoy it. I have got to try the soap.
