John Heiffor straight razor

Hey, quick question....... I picked up a John Heiffor French point with a slight smile, stamped, "made for army". Cleaned up real nice, honed it, witch went fairly easy, I used rolling x's, wasnt a problem at all. Here's the question, for stropping a razor with a smile, do you need to use the same tech as honing, rolling X's?? Wanted to ask, before i destroyed my strop, and that nice edge! Thanks all!

I've got a couple razors with very pronounced smiles. and I find that I don't need to use a rolling-x on the strop, just a nice x-stroke should be sufficient.
It seems sometimes that I change the angle of the blade across the strop a bit to reach into the heel area. The important part is that the strop is able to make contact across the whole width.

Leather should have enough inherent give to allow you to just strop as usual without a problem. Regular x strokes should be fine.

You can't expect straight shaving without a bit a blood!

However, that's one of my dream razor, John Heiffor French point... How big is the blade? Is it a wedge, half hollow, full, 3/4?
