What's new

January comes EARLY (do you blame me?)

I know I stated in earlier posts that January 1st 2010 marked the first use of the NOS Vintage Trumper's Rose shaving soap I had purchased from Ameet. After surveying my tiny shreads of TABAC and MWF left in their respective containers, I was left no choice but to break out the TALLOW goodness that is the pre-reformulated GFT Rose. November 16th isn't a bad day to spoil my face I don't think. I will report my findings as the current Trumper Rose is a favorite. How much better can the old recipe actually be? We will soon find out!

Used the NOS Rose and there really was no discernable difference... Just great stuff.
I agree. I have owned and used both the tallow version and current version and didn't notice any discernable difference. Both are excellent soaps. Enjoy!

Mike, I've heard other seasoned wet shavers come to the same conclusion about Trumper's Rose..I've only use the new formula, which you recommended BTW, thanks..

This gives me hope that other now tallow-less soaps, will successfully imitate their former tallow greatness....

Thanks for sharing,
Julian

I can say that Im not at all unhappy that I acquired it even at a fair premium price point only to discover that it is essentially on par with GFT's current offerings. I just HAD to know for myself.
