What's new

It's Mine, It's Mine, Woo Hoo

Eh, sorry, got carried away. My first Ebay win of something nice and minty. I'm all excited. Can't wait to get it.

Yeah, I went higher than I'd have liked. But when I saw it, I got that sick, roller coaster feeling in my stomach - 'OMG, I have to have that'.

I used to work in retail sales selling camcorders, when they were big-ticket items. We had a guy who moved a ton of them. I asked him once how he knew when to close. He said, "I'm talking to Mom, but I'm watching Dad. When he gets that constipated look on his face, I know he just decided to spend the money, and that's when I pounce."

Best of luck with. It's a beaute. Should be worth getting that constipated look the moment before you increased your bid.

Good score, Chip. I was watching that for 3 days and was going to bid but backed off. I already spent my allowance for the month. Tomorrow starts a new month. But I really liked it. Congrats. I'm glad you got it.

Not a bad score at all!

Looking for something "nice and minty" as well to round out the collection of "shelf queens" I have that I'm not using at the moment...mostly US Army khaki sets and the like.

Again congrats!

Very nice! I hope you love yours as much as I love the one I just received on Saturday. It's awesome. So simple, yet so beautiful and effective.

Good score! I just bought one that looks identical to yours (mine needs TLC to be as pretty as yours). Can you tell me what it is? I can't identify mine. I posted pics in another thread if you want to see.

They are NEWs, my favorite. I believe this one is short comb, yours is long. Both bar handle, which I also prefer to the ball end. If you haven't yet shaved with one, you're in for a treat.

Here is the link to the completed auction. It turns out this seller is, by Ebay's global standards, in my own back yard, which piques my interest.

I'm going to message him to see if he's willing to fill in the story of how this beauty was found in a train station. Could it have sat around overlooked for seventy-odd years? It sure hasn't been used much, if at all.

Now, I need to find a Deluxe.... thanks, Guido, for posting how much you love them... :001_rolle
