Is mineral oil good for your skin?

I know it's used on babies, but is Johnson & Johnson's baby oil good for your skin? There seems to be two schools that have opposite views. One group says it clogs pores, restricts skin breath-ability, holds in toxins and is generally bad for you. The other says oil is oil is oil and oil is good for your skin since you body produces oil. Of course all this came on unreliable websites. Could anyone shed some light on this?
