What's new

Interesting detail in eBay auction.

This is an active listing so I won't post any links, but this jumped out at me when I was reading the description.

Shaving brush - wood handle with 2 1/4" hair bristles. Some scuffs from hanging on stand. (A few loose bristles smelled like burning hair when removed and burned.)

Uhh...

Ya think??

I bet a shot of whiskey tastes watery when added to a glass of water.

maybe he wanted to know if it was synthetic?

I could see that. It just seems funny the way it's written. Hair bristles mentioned, then scuffs, then burning hair.
If it were I, I think I'd have left the experiment documentation off of the ad.

When shopping for Alpaca sweaters in Peru, guide books recommend burning a few strands to see if it burns and smells like hair (real) or curls and smells like oil (synthetic).

Sounds like this guy is doing the same thing to demonstrate its authenticity.

And for those interested... Alpaca sweaters from street vendors never pass the test.
