injector users question...

I'm a Gem SE user as well as a user of a G type Schick injector. Two very different animals. The SE is very close but very aggressive and demands to be treated with respect. The injector reminds me of my Sensor. I just hack away for a reasonbly close shave. Lots of pressure, lots of hacking away. Never a nick or burn. I hope that's helpful.

yes, by pressure you mean on every stroke, sounds iritating.

By far my favorite shaver even better than a straight (dont tell anyone:lol:) are my old E-types with a modified Super Professional Feather blade. Excellent close smooth all day lasting shaves!!

Alex your best bet is to try a couple diferent models and see what you like best. Even between the models there's some difference. I have a J1 (white handle) and a J2 (black handle) that are as different as night and day. The J1 is much more aggressive than the J2 even though they're the same model.

I can't tell much difference between the G and E in the way they shave, but the E is nice because the spring rotates to the left allowing the blade compartment to open for cleaning.

The I type is pretty mild, at least in my opinion.

The M adjustables are great because, well, they're adjustable, but are usually the most expensive.

I've been using a PAL Injecto-matic that I bought from member whydert recently, and I'm really liking how it works. Pretty aggressive little shaver.

As experienced as you are I'd say any one of them would work fine for you, with a minimum learning curve. It may just come down to which one you like the looks of better.

If you mean the Hydro-Magic lever, that is a nice feature. Note that it's on the J3 and J4, but not on the J1 or J2. It's also available on the I2 (but not I1) and on the Lady Eversharps, K1, K2, and K3. Just be careful when you close it up that it's closed all the way so the blade is in there tight. Also make sure the blade is still seated properly against the stops.

I've tried so many injectors now that I'm confusing myself. Too many good choices. When somebody asks which one they should start with now, I'll keep it relatively simple and say pick one from types E, G, I, or J. All of these can be found at low prices, and are broadly in the right range of aggressiveness for me.

which injector should i try, i hear they are great and im curious which one is the best to try out.:001_huh:

There are many to choose from but my two cents would be to definitely get a Schick Adjustable (M-Series), a PAL Adjustable and a selection of the non-adjustables which suit your tastes. For me this means the newer injector models; so I have an L-Model, an N-Model and Gillette's version of the injector, but you may prefer the older models from before 1960, which tend to be more aggressive.
