So, after reading a hundred threads about amazing inexpensive Indian shave creams and the wonders of real Mysore sandalwood bath soap, I sought out an Indian grocer yesterday and went to the store with high expectations, only to have them dashed.
1) They only had one shaving product on display. Any guesses what it was?
2) I guess I just don't really like the smell of sandalwood. They had the Mysore sandalwood soap, to be sure. I picked it up and smelled it. Hmmm.....not particularly pleasant but not repulsive. Only $1.39. I should buy it, I think to myself. I carry it around the store while looking for other things, stopping to smell it again every once in a while. Hmm....it'll probably smell better once it's lathered up.....Hmmmm....it actually kinda stinks......
I put it back on the shelf. Couldn't even pony up a buck thirty-nine for it. (FWIW, I now remember being physically repulsed by the smell of AoS sandalwood shaving soap; actually moving my head backward away from the soap. I guess sandalwood is not for everybody.)
