What's new

In those times you are pressed for time, how do you shave?

Today I had to get up @ 6:30am and be out the door by 7:45. I had to shower and shave, my wife had to shower, we had to cook and eat breakfast and also get the 18 month old baby up, dressed and fed. In these moments, how do you shave, what do you use and do? Here is what I did:

Disposable Personna 3 blade razor
VDH Deluxe
Tweezerman brush
Witch Hazel
Cold water used during shave

I used the disposable because I would not have to worry about a 3 pass shave nor a blade angle nor a nick from being a bit rushed. So what do you do in a situation like this?

I love my "G" and L1 injectors. Especially if I have a couple of days growth, I can get a good shave in basically one pass - mostly WTG with a few XTG touch ups. The G is better since it's a little more aggressive. My favorite cream is GFT Limes - I can lather it really quickly and it always provides a nice cushiony shave.

That fast? I might just run to the Gillette Fusion with a squirt of Edge gel and get 'er done in the shower.

There's always tomorrow to make up for lost ritual.

I use my trac ii if i am in a rush, though i still use the prep stuff but i find as the trac is a cartridge its quicker and i can get away with just 2 passess.

If appearance the entire next day is not critical, I shave before going to bed. My clean shaven look last until the afternoon.

I switch from a straight razor to a DE. Two pass shave and use a cream for lather. I can pretty much get the prep and the shave done in about 10 minutes.

1. 6 drops of Shave Secret into a wet hand
2. Rub over face.
3. 3 passes with my Gillette Old type

Done in 5 minutes or less!

:tongue_sm

Got up this morning and did a DFS shave in 3 min. Would of taken me 20min using a DE approach or 10min with a Mach 3.

Used my Norelco electric razor!!

FWIW, my neck got very red and itchy for about 1 hour, but I made it to work on time. (actually I could of shave in the car!!)

I will baby my face when I get home tonight.

I use a cream instead of a soap. That saves a lot of time right there. Like one of the earlier posters said, GFT Limes makes a beautiful shaving lather in about 30-40 seconds. Same for my Real Shaving Company cream, which I used this morning.

Two passes. No more.

Still takes about 15 minutes or so from start to finish.

I shave at the gym on weekdays so I rarely have a ton of time but when I'm really pressed I'll whip out a straight razor. I can get in two passes with a straight before I can get my tech loaded.
