What's new

I'm not giving my TOBS sandalwood it's due attention

It was the first soap I bought this year when I got back into wet shaving. I used it a few times while still learning to use a DE (I started on straights)then I quickly started experimenting with others. I really need to put this back into rotation though. What a Great shave tonight. Slick, not as cushiony as my favorites P.160 and Cella, but a super comfortable shave. Fantastic stuff.i think I need to retry my earlier soaps and creams that I disregarded when I was learning and using the too sharp for me feathers.

I totally agree with you. I have the TOBS sandalwood and don't use it enough. Not due to lack of performance but for some reason it gets forgotten. Thanks for the thread, I think I'll hit it up a few times this week.

I've some I never used (got a few for a REALLY low price and put them into storage). Maybe I'll pull some out soon and give it a crack.

This is my first triple milled hard soap. It has taken some practice to get consistently good lather for me but now I'm enjoying it as my primary soap. This stuff is going to last me for some time.

I personally let a little water sit on it before hand. Great clean smell. Feels really good afterwards too. I also coupled it with the TOBS sandalwood pre-shave oil too.

I absolutely love the smell and the consistancy. But I have noticed that I end up with more irritation following a shave with it compared to TOBS avocado. Pretty new at DE shaving -- but still there's a noticeable difference. Sigh.

The soap doesn't agree with my face either. The more I used it, the more it burned. When I was new to DE shaving, I thought it was bad razor burn, but eventually figured out it was a reaction to the soap. I ended up giving it away.
