I was wrong about the Cella

Awhile back, I asked for help here as I tried to transition a little from all Creams to some soaps. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I received a lot of great recommendations from all and have even become a member of the Order of the Fat.

One of my first stumbling blocks was Cella. I absolutely hated the scent of almonds probably because of a very bad drinking experience from my youth with Amaretto. Anyway, I originally ordered a tub and tried it and promptly PIF'd it to a good friend at work. And then, a few weeks back bought another tub because I was haunted by all of the superb reports about how much you folks love Cella.

I just shaved yet again with Cella tonight and I am completely sold on this stuff and I am in love with it. How? Why? I cannot explain but the strong scent of almonds (for me) tends to fade after about thirty seconds and gives way to a wonderful scent of warm, baked marzipan! It's like I am shaving in an old Italian bakery for crying out loud. And, the cushion and lather that is provided is almost unmatched in my opinion by any of my favorite creams.

I just wanted to make my epiphany public for anyone else who may be on the fence with Cella. Don't give up on it and don't let the almonds fool you (if you don't care for them). I don't know why I didn't give it a better, fair shake but I am glad that I went back to the little red tub!

I love Marzipan , I used to go to Toledo and eat it all the time when I lived in Madrid. This is a must try soap for me.

I'm getting there with Cella. I have a lot of soaps/creams in the rotation right now but after this afternoons shave I've got a free spot so maybe ill add cella to the line up. I love the smell and so far the performance has been good, but not to the level that I have heard its capable of.

If people haven't already been annoyed with me constantly professing my love for Cella, I'll say it one more time:

I loves me some Cella!

It took a little while for me as well to learn how to lather it perfectly, but once I did, it became my Soul Mate Soap. I will never be without some Cella in my house. The cushion, glide, and the way my face feels after has totally smitten me. As for the smell, I love anything Almond, so that was only an added bonus.

Cella is a great soap. Like all soaps, the "AHA!" moment arrives when you hit that sweet spot with the lather. When I stumbled upon the perfect water:soap ratio, it was awesome. I've used Cella regularly for a little while now but it was when I lathered using the "Marco Method" that I got the slickest and closest shaves.

I have some coming in a sample pack. I have been a doubter with the almond scent, but glad to see it is worth the try. Perhaps it will be the first of the samples I put in my rotation.

What's "the Marco Method"?

I've got about half a tub left. Haven't used it for a while, since I recently got the "never ending travel box" and have been sampling other soaps and creams the past several shaves. I miss that smell and the glide it gives my blade.

I think when I run out of cella I'm going to get the big 1kg block. I love the artwork on he packaging.

When I do buy my brick, I'm actually going to frame the front of the box and hang it in my bathroom. Just a little manly, bathroom artwork to spruce the place up.

I didn't like it at first either, I gave away the small sample that I received. Then a friend on the forums raved about it so I thought i'd try it again and picked up a portion off the brick. I have to admit, I like the bricked Cella better than the red tub, and it's resulting shaves were amazing. It's definitely part of my den now.
