What's new

I need to vent!

So, about a week ago I ordered my silvertip badger brush with a marble handle from Shavemac (yeah, I splurged). Service was excellent and I have been anticipating the arrival so that I could try it out. I was going to lather up even if I did not need to shave!

I was tracking my package through FEDEX and was aware of where it was in the process. (I might have missed a day of checking it but I knew roughly where it was in the process.) Today I checked it and it said "address incorrect." I thought "BULLS**T!" I knew the address was correct because I could see it on the order sheet!

So, I called FEDEX in the heat of the moment. They were not going to get away with this! The first person that I talked to told me that the address was incorrect. I told them that they were wrong and that they needed to dig deeper and find out where my package was. She then directed me over to their international department.

The guy on the phone had the nerve to ask me how I was doing today. At first I said, "I am fine." (That was a lie and my mother always told me not to lie so I had to change my answer.) "Actually I am pissed off! Where is my package!" This guys tries to tell me the same thing, wrong address or that the delivery driver could not find my address. "How can he not know my address? He turns around in the cul-de-sac everyday!"

Well, now the story changes (again). After verifying my address and probably against what they have in the system, he tells me that the package did not clear customs. "What!?!" My package was selected for the random customs inspection. "Why don't you randomly pick another one?" So, my new brush that is to be a highlight of my shaving routine, made it all the way to my house and was recalled by customs for a random check halfway back across the country. "What the hell do you need to check? It is a shaving brush!"

We can't find terrorists but that .5 pound shave brush package will not escape our grasp!

*sigh* Maybe I will get it back by Friday.....

I feel secure now, albeit at your expense, lol...

Seriously though, that sucks. Sounds like FedEx is spinning you a line of BS so they can buy themselves some time and figure out where your package went. I wouldn't sweat it though...good things come to those who wait, and all that jive.

Great story, well written

Now, sorry to heard about that. Customs are like that sometimes... Unfortunatly it's you. I also find it strange that incorrect address went to recall by customs... Anyways, hopefully you will get it soon!

Morons. Why would the driver even bother trying to find your address if the package was still in customs?
Sorry to hear about you predicament. I hope you get your brush soon.

That sucks. If it makes you feel any better though this type of thing (or some other postage related dilemma) eventually happens to everyone. Enjoy that brush once it finally arrives!

Sounds like the driver was trying to pull a fast one.I was there....BS!
Hope you get your brush real soon

+1, it does happen to everyone. and just think next time it happens you'll already have a few brushes lying around to play with while they joke around at customs.

They sent the package all the way from Memphis, TN to Dallas, TX and then decided that it should not have left the facility and wanted it back. That is what I call efficient. On the positive side......I can't think of anything to say that is positive about FEDEX right now.....

that driver is using it, you cant blame him ... afterall, it is a Shavemac

or maybe its in Plano, Illinois?

Since you mentioned FedEx you aggravated a painful spot so I will have to share this onewith you guys. Last year I ordered goods from the US to Canada - paid $50 custom and tax, however I had to return the goods to the US since they were defective, so I called FedEx to make sure I have got all the necessary forms including the Commercial Invoice with a declaration is is returned goods with and ALL THE FORMS THEY NEEDED and I ticked the Repair and Return option (since I was sure I will get a replacement and not a refund). Anyways, I shipped it BACK to the US and a few days after I get charged for Tax and Duty by US custom !!!
I phoned FedEx more than 30 times ( I am not kidding) and tried to explained them that these were returned goods to a merchant located in the US and I was told I got charged since I exported good to the US !!! I tried to explain the morons that they can't collect tax and duty on returned goods (double tax cannot be applied) and they said they will investigate....
4 months after and endless phone calls to them I receive an email that they need to dig further but the brokrage company will charge me $50 for the investigation !!! *** ! I said enough is enough, and called Mastercard to file a dispute.... while backing up my claims with the documents and copy of chapter 114.5483 for Tax and Duty. Within 5 days I got my money from Matercard. It was almost $200.
Good luck with FedEx, I will never use their services ever again.

Hope you feel better now.

US postal service seems to take a while internationally -- but I was very pleased my Lands End parcel arrived. Actually, I emailed asking where it was and it arrived in the afternoon.

Sometimes, just making a fuss and emailing someone seems to expedite delivery!

i got a tube of nivea soap sent back to me 3 times in a row, that i was sending as a trade for a travel tech,

and apparently it was opened and the writing wasnt in english so it was sent back, the stupidest thing i have ever heard,

i re sent it out, with the english part of the packaging with it,

sadly , i ended up spending 25 canadian for a razor that was being sent for 2.99 usd plus shipping, and i could have bought a cased Nos travel tech for 20 usd plus extra shipping to canada,

i feel assaulted...

There are problems with all delivery services. For the most part everything goes smoothly though. I had ordered a custom Shavemac earlier this year, knew from tracking number when it was supposed to arrive. I was at my front window and watched the FedEX driver go by my house. When I checked the tracking number a few minutes later, I was informed it had been delivered! I immediately called FedEx customer service, got a nice person on the line who was very helpful. She kept right on it until she got the driver, found out he had delivered to the wrong house and told me where it was, at a neighbor down the street. I went down and retrieved it. FedEx called me back the next day to make sure I had gotten the package. I thought that was good service even though the driver had screwed up the delivery.

As far as the US Postal Service goes, I have a pretty crappy mailman too. Thank God I am planning on moving soon!

I hope you're moving to another planet. USPS or FEDEX service isn't any better anywhere else.

Re: your brush problem. The Fedex explanation sounds fishy to me--I don't think that they're telling you the truth.

Your problem has nothing to do with Customs because Customs has nothing to do with fedex. They have their own brokerage house that performs all Customs operations for themselves so if they say its a customs issue its their issue. Additionally if a parcel does have to go through Customs once its released its gone. They never recall packages unless its an enforcement issue like they think you have an atomic bomb or something.

Can anyone tell me why Fedex delivered a Shavemac brush to me yesterday even though I never ordered one?

I have everything, and I mean everything, shipped to work. Shaving brushes, patio furniture you name it. Might be worth while to ask if you can have items shipped to you at work. At least the really important ones, like shaving gear.
