I think it's awesome how I learn something almost every time I log on here at B&B! And usually it's something I'm not even expecting or actively researching. I found a Slim about 2 weeks ago and brought it home. Shaved with it twice and hated it. Of course, the way I was cycling through razors and blades, I had no idea if this was due to the razor disagreeing with my face, the blade, or technique, so I put it in the drawer for a much later date. Earlier today, I inadvertently stumbled on a thread where one member was telling another to make sure to turn the handle another 1/4 of a turn after it felt like the blade was locked in. Picked up the Slim and checked it out, and Presto! Looks like the blade wasn't properly and fully seated. How in the world could I have even expected to get any kind of a decent or comfortable shave under these circumstances? Once I work through the rest of my sampler, which will include a much needed revisit to the Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless blades (the ones I incorrectly used in my Slim, and had written off as incompatible with my mug), I'll also have to pick up the Slim again and use it properly this time!
