I am a teacher. I live in New Orleans. It is Mardi Gras week, so I am off the entire week. With the weekends bookended, I am off for nine days in a row

Staying clear of the crowds or hitting parades?
I'm staying clear of the city and staying in Acadiana Mamou type celebrations. Courier de Mardi Gras !
It's nice getting time off I agree. I closed down and entire surgical center.

Probably hitting the parades in Metairie. I have three kids and find it a bit easier to deal with than Uptown, though I love the Uptown atmosphere.
Anyone have plans in the Lafayette area?
Enjoy. I miss Mardi Gras almost as much as I miss a half-and-half poboy at Mandinas.

.Today was great. A couple of sprinkles but overcast the whole day. Not hot, not cold, no sunburn. We actually stayed for every last truck which we never do.

Sounds like a perfect day. I used to weather the Truck parades at the Mayfair. Mayhem inevitably ensued.
Hydration and a positive attitude are essential.
During Mardi Gras, I take care of both of those with dangerous amounts of adult beverages. Drinking too much water is a rookie mistake
