I like Arko but I don't like Palmolive

I soak my shave stick in some water while I grab a shower. When I'm ready to shave, the Arko goes on nice and easy. The Palmolive is still pretty much hard as a rock. So, master shavers, what shave sticks are available that are reasonably soft like Arko but maybe smell a bit nicer?

BTW, once I get the Palmolive applied, I can build a nice lather. It's the application process that I'm just not keen on.

Yes, my signature says that I'm restraining myself. I should update it to say that I'm a fallen member of that thread.

Thanks, all. Bestshave.net has Derby, G.z.d., & Tweex. I think they're all local products. And WCS carries the Valobra and La Toja. Looks like I'll be placing a couple of orders.

There are a few other Turkish shave sticks you can try, that are also soft.

In the case of GZD and Camelot they are too soft to use as-is. They would need to be smushed into a mug to use like a puck or smushed into a stick container (such as an old deodorant container) to use like a stick. Arko has the same issue but is a bit firmer than GZD. Derby is not as soft, I don't have any info on Tweex.

I soak my Palmolive's tip in water (probably the top three-quarters of an inch) for about 10-20 minutes before shaving with it. If you have the time 30 minutes is better, especially if you want to make enough lather for a second pass.

You should change your signature to reflect that. Add in Fallen, enabler, or something of the sort
