What's new

I just scored! (I think)

Was browsing on the alternative to the auction site whose name shall not be mentioned & picked up two vintage injectors for $8 shipped!

Now to find some blades!

You can find Schick injector blades at many of the smaller pharmacy. Call around and ask. They are not very expensive

Anytime you can pick up two good user grade razors for $8 is a good day. Nice score!

Sorry...didn't know if it was proper or not.
The site is Etsy. I'm sure most of you have heard of it?

*Edit* Should one stick with the name-brand blades for these old razors?

OK...since you all have seen the razors, I have a question about operation.
I got some NOS Personnas in the mail today & since i've never used injector razors before, I guess I need some help.
Is that "tension bar" thing supposed to turn before injecting the blade? If so, I can't get it to budge.
*sigh* Such is the life of a n00b.

Nope. Some of them used to move so you could open the head for cleaning, but they need to be closed in order to inject.

No, providing the blades are compatible you can use other makes - and I think that pretty much means Schick or Personna.

OK...thanks.
I started putting the key in, but was afraid to use too much force since i'm kinda big & clumsy. I did get a blade in, however, without breaking (or cutting) anything. :)

Always a plus when you come out with all fingers intact! One tidbit of advice on loading is be kind of careful not to rake the blade edge on the blade stops on the razor.

+1 I did this the first time I injected a blade into mine, didn't even know I did it, I did however notice how little it was cutting of my whiskers, injected a new blade, was careful ti ensure that it didn't touch the blade stops and BAM, it removed hair like no other yet! love my Injector

Yeah, I shaved with the lighter colored one today & while not a 1 pass shave, I enjoyed it.
I noticed the darker colored on of the 2 had a small crack up towards the head. I got a toothpick and some gorilla glue & filled it in. I've learned that when it dries it leaves a cream colored residue. Can't even tell it's there now.
