How did YOU get your Type O Schick Injector?

schick_razors12.jpg

1. You sold your soul?
2. You found one on the auction site and paid an astronomical price? (I've NEVER in almost 20 years seen one there)
3. You were in Japan and someone knew someone in Yokohama whose sister's uncle had one?
4. You lucked out HERE in the BST?
5. Straight up magic?

My Injector fetish has come back and I have somewhat recently been able to get an NOS M1, unused G8, NOS Hydro-Magic 500, and an NOS Type L and Type N.
I have had the ebarbershop clone for years now - and it never worked correctly. You can't even get the key to go all the way in it.
But this one, as expected, is very elusive.
I am curious how people here came across them.
I love hearing success stories - especially if they help me become successful myself.

In three days and 19 hours I plan on begging/grovelling to someone to part with theirs - and I guess be prepared to pull $$$ out of the savings account :)

I might have one, but need a day or two to confirm if I still have it. Got into the hobby years ago, really fell in love with Injector razors(especially the adjustable Type M). Everyone kept talking about this legendary mystical Type O and I picked up a clone and it was barely even functional. Bought it from someone on here and couldn't even get the razor to slide in, that's how badly created/aligned it was. Skulking on eBay, I managed to find NOS one from a lady who also had no idea what she had. This wasn't the Japanese version in the beautiful packaging, I believe I got it how they sold it in the US(just sealed in a plastic bag). Used it once, put it away then left for the military. Spent so many weeks in Basic using cartridge razors, I just ended up going back to them and leaving the hobby unfortunately(and then got out of the military and grew a beard).

I know I have seen my Wet Shaving box in my storage unit, popped it open one day just to smell my old shave soaps before I closed it back up but if I did save it then it will most likely be in there all wrapped up. Give me a bit and the next time I head over to my unit I'll pop the box and see if its there. It's not NOS, but it's only been used once so it's as good as its gonna get.

Awesome!
There is one that has been on a Japanese auction site NOS for about 400 dollars and I really just don't want one THAT badly I guess lol

No problem man, I have to put something into my storage unit today so I can get at the Wet Shaving Box then. I know I put it away in the box, but it's been like 7 years since I have really dug through everything inside(and have moved with the box a few times) so I'll just re-confirm it's still there and take a photo or two.

It's definitely one you want to use, even if I had it still sealed in the bag there is something so un-sexy about a razor just in a clear plastic bag sitting in a display case lol. It looked exactly like the one Whiterook posted a picture of, probably why I had no issues tearing it open. I might have had hesitation to pop it open if it was in that Japanese beautiful packaging.

But yea give me a couple hours and if I do have it, I got no issues selling it to you. It's not doing me any good just chilling in a box and might as well let someone else take their turn with it and use it.

I really appreciate it!

Well, I must admit that it is awesome to be able to answer my own question as if I am someone else.
I now own a beautiful Type O and shaved with it for the first time this morning!
Not NOS in the package, but it had only been used once before, so that is very close.
It definitely looks and feels brand new.
Didn't sell my soul lol.
Didn't have to go to Japan.
Didn't pay an astronomical price.
Didn't luck out in the BST here.
I simply made a post asking people how they got theirs (see above LOL) and an awesome person reached out.
Don't know if they want me saying who they are, so I won't.
I think it will be perfect for mild daily work shaves.
Also look forward to trying it with twin blades, speaking of an astronomical price LOL.

got one N.O.S unopened on japan auction 8 years ago but sadly i was so curious and want to know how it shave so i open it .

Posted from Japan. This is a product from when cartridge-type replacement blades became mainstream, so it is the mildest of the entire series. For a long time it was around $67-80 on Yahoo Auctions in Japan, so it's probably best to wait. I bought mine for $6.67 at a small cosmetics store around 2010. The blister pack had turned brown, but the contents were fine.

if it was unopened 67-80 would be reasonable.
