So today was like any other day for me except I had a couple of vintage razors showing up at the house. To be exact I had a Gillette red tip and a blue tip arriving. Please keep in mind that I just started wetshaving about four months ago and up until today I have been using a Merkur 38C, which I have gotten a fairly good comand over.

So I kknew these razors were coming so I skipped my daily ritual this morning in hopes that I could use one of my new treasures at lunch. I ran home at lunch to see what the postman had left for me...it was like Christmas in August!!! I ran to my bathroom, did an abbreviated "Kyle's" prep, loaded a new Gillette Black into both the RT and BT, and off I went. I tried the BT first, and as everyone has said, it is a very mild razor. So I went for the RT, I laiid her too my face, and pulled ever so gently WTG. I think I actually saw God at one point applauding me. This is an amazing razor!!! I really don't know how a shave could get much better, I normally get the slightest of razor burn, I don't have a hint of razor burn or any irritation what so ever. I'm telling you, I was amazed. This razor has really llived up to the hype that everyone has built around it.

I know that YMMV goes for razors, but I just didn't think there would be that much difference in the shave quality. I had been shaving, as I said, with my 38c for nearly four months, and since I have found a blade that I'm comfortable with, I have been getting great shaves. But when I shaved today with my red tip, it was totally different in a good way. It felt "safer", like I couldn't nick myself (which I know I can but you know what I mean). Anyways, let me know how your first shave goes with your new SS...
