Hydrate with Soap

The question would be for the ones that tried the most known brands of soaps. I would like to know what soap should I buy, regardless of scent, that can take the most amount of water, or that allows the blade to glide on the face in the smoothest way possible. Also, if it lathers easy, is a plus.

I obtained pretty nice results with Proraso Soap for sensitive skin combined with 5 drops of glycerin. But I am sure that there should be something better then this, that reduces the friction between face and blade better.

One other awesome thing I did, was to add 2 blades with its edges cut, just to make my Muhle 89 more aggressive, and guess what: I was actually able to cut directly with the blade on the beard without touching my face with the safety bar first, now that was luxurious, and absolutely no blade harshness.

Tabac. I prefer the scent, some find it repulsive.... but as you say, regardless of scent..... scent aside, nothing beats Tabac IMO for what you're looking for.

I'd go with the standards, too. Cella, Tabac, MWF. Vintage Old Spice is great, too. All handle plenty of water and give great cushion.

You may want to try a couple of glycerine based soaps like - QED, Kells, VDH, Mama Bears - I don't know if they can handle a wave of water but glycerine soaps are generally noted for their slickness and gliding properties.

Razorock Italian croaps are amazingly easy to lather, and give me outstanding protection. King Louis Lavendar, Mudder Focker, Peppino tobacco are some of my favorites.

Love the Tabac! I like Dr. Harris soaps as well, but the smell and ease of lather building make Tabic my recommendation, you just can't go wrong with it!

If you are not stuck on soap. Give Trumpers coconut oil cream a shot. I've found it to be the slickest of the many I have used.

Another for Cella on this one...

I tried it the first time yesterday and was amazed. Not a single ounce of friction. The most cushioning soap I've ever used, and I have a fair amount of brands at this point though I'm not nearly as experienced as many on this forum.

Why isn't anyone talking about Arko?

Afraid that the Arko zombies might get you :001_smile
Because there is something dangerous in Arko that cause some to say that Arlington smells just like it. Avoid mind altering soaps.
