How to make the rolls razor blade shine?

I have some razor blades, and when I got them they had some finger prints, and marks on them.

I wanted to get rid and clean them (warm soapy water, nothing strong) but now they look "dull" I don't remember how shiny they were.

I know they are made of sheffields steal, but can they shine?

I've tried with metal polish, and nothing.

Thanks.

I'm having the same issue with mine. It shaves fine, but cosmetically-speaking its not the best looking razor in the world.

I think it may have something to do with the materials. I have one blade that I believe was never used (it doesn't have the typical line you get when you put them on the handle). But still it doesn't look as it should.

Also, does yours appear "impermeable" I mean like water just slide off, leaving almost (and in some cases) no drops?

You know, I don't know if it does that or not. I never really paid any attention to how water runs off it.

I might be totally wrong but if it were me I'd try with a cotton pad on my dremel and chromium oxide paste. Being very careful to avoid the dremel from throwing the blade through my jugular . . .goes without saying.
