How to get into those tight areas of a Gillette DE

Some one mentioned the idea of generic q-tips. as they'd be smaller, and easier to maneuver. The authentic Q-tips don't work as they are too big to get into those nooks and crannies, of a Gillette DE.

So I went shopping, to a beauty supply store near me, and found these, that worked like a dream.

The paddle end is good for all over. The handle might be a bit tricky, and the other end, is very effective in getting into those tight spots.

Hope it helps.

ditto the toothbrush. I also will use toothpicks & pipe cleaners to get in some real tight areas, ie. between the plates on an adjustable.

i use a stiff toothbrush with polishing compound and a little toothpaste. It gets into tight areas without too much effort.

Can you polish and buff with a toothbrush?

Wouldn't that scratch the baseplate and other areas?

Thanks.

Does the polish - any polish - remove some of nickel plating to make it shinier? I wonder...

Thanks.

Once you polish a razor, (I used Flitz), does the polishing protect the razor in any way?
Thanks

I've become quite fond of my ultrasonic cleaner I acquired just a few days ago. Used it to clean up razors, cd/dvds, watches, eye glasses. Pretty handy and didnt cost a whole lot. Only real big question now is how long will it last.....

Most, but not all, metal polishes use either a wax or oil base so yes it does tend to leave a protectant behind. But the more you use it with soap/cream and water it will wash off.

+1. I love my ultrasonic cleaner - I bought it > 5 years ago.

A drop of dishwashing liquid + warm water + ultrasonic cleaner will clean up most anything..
