Over here employers, by law can only say if you were employed, not an essay on what you did.
Try again anyway, nothing to lose. It was a long time ago and at least you weren't stealing or anything malicious. I've done bad things at my job but they see that as learning and a lot of managers admitted to doing similar in their early years so there's a compromise.
