How I Love A Saturday

Got to sleep in late this morning and had breakfast with the family. After the family was done with the bathroom, I decided to indulge myself. Did my normal prep but I mixed up some uberlather. I don't do it very often. This morning I used CO Bigelow and some VanderSpice. It turned out really, really slick and smelled like heaven. Then I grabbed my Gillette New Single Ring with my last IP Red and went to town. Three wonderful passes later with no irritation, I had mostly a BBS shave. Next came the alum block and the moment of truth. I found out my technique and lather were spot on. Then, I liberally applied AV, and I mean liberally. I am one happy man. Enjoy your weekend everyone!

I usually shave in the afternoon - except for Saturdays. However, since I am retired I look forward to uberlather EVERY day. Today it was Mama Bear's unscented and Proraso. Sunday it will be MWF and TOBs almond cream.

Nice! :wink2:

"Cheesehead Transplant": is that in any way a reference to a Dutch background? :001_cool:

Cool

Don't you think it is nice to have a forum to say this and not be thought of as crazy.

+1 I think SWMBO is the only person I know in person that does not feel I'm a little off my rocker. Most of my peers (late twenties) just can't grasp the concept of an enjoyable shave. I guess I'll just have to Merkur Ministry until they see the light and receive their shaving salvation.:biggrin1:

Pampered myself today also---even gave myself a haircut---did break down and used the carts for the back of my neck--just not that skilled with a DE to do that through 2 mirrors while holding one of them and the razor in the other hand---maybe someday.

Part of my Saturday ritual is a nice leisurely shave, too. If I don't have anywhere to go that requires a shave, I wait until Saturday night for a real close and comfortable experience. Tonight's was a follow-up to a barbecue and baseball game on TV.

I agree at 100%. I love these week-end morning too where I can take as much time as I want to have a great shave. :thumbup1:
It is true that not a lot of people can understand that. My sons are discreetly smiling when I proudly show them the last razor I just cleaned and my collegues believe I'm joking when I tell them I shave with a DE razor! I am glad I now know a place where I am not seen as a curious excentric: B&B.

Sounds like a lot of us DE shavers enjoy extra pampering on the weekends! And why shouldn't we?! Shave on my friends...shave on. :wink2:
