Is it pronounced "spike" or "speak" or maybe some other way?

I am so glad I saw this thread today. not that i ever really talk to anyone face to face about wetshaving, aside from SWMBO.
Man I say all sorts of things wrong in my head as I'm not saying them out loud. I would have always read it as "speck"
Say Schpike, unless your are a Prussian, then you can say Spike, but everyone south of the Main river is going to laugh at you.
Someone started a thread about proper pronunciation of various brand names ... besides Speick, there are a lot of others that we constantly struggle with ... Semogue / Proraso / Tabac / Musgo Real / Irisch Moos / etc.
I wish someone could find that thread and bump it up. It should have been moved the ShaveWiki by now but it hasn't. But there is a motherlode of information in there that answers a lot of FAQs about pronunciation of foreign brand names.
In the meantime, I'll go with what Rudy Vey says about "schbike." If there's anyone on B&B that knows for sure, its him.

In German "ei" sounds like "l", and "ie" sounds like "e".
