I like cramming a single use into my loading bowl, so they’re all even-Steven for me.
Hard puck at the bottom of a mug.
I have about 25 or so creams in my drawer so put me in the shave cream category.
I have more croaps, the soft soaps, but all are fine for me.
In whatever format the soap which takes my fancy comes to hand. This morning it was a cream, Speick, but yesterday it was more of a croap, MdC. Tomorrow it could be a hard puck of vintage Yardley, but we'll see.
Tied for first place for me is hard puck snd shave stick. Creams next. Croaps last.
I don't mind which one I use.
Since reducing the amount of products it’s just two pucks of soap and two creams. I like both choices, it just depends on the day.

Pick the format that you like and use the most. I like them all also but what is your favorite.
I like them all. Have found that the best lathering technique varies bases on soap type. I lather right on top of my hard pucks and then finish with face lathering. Creams are applied directly to my face and then face lathered. For my Croaps I've found that they work best when scooped and spread in a small lathering bowl. Too hard to easily apply to my face and my brushes often don't load enough directly off the puck. For my Arko sticks I form them into pucks and then use like any other hard soap.
I have always preferred hard soaps. Croaps and creams are for cheaters 
I have whittled down the stuff I like considerably. I really like MdC, it's really easy to lather. I also really like Proraso Green from the tube.
All are fine but those I reach for the most are hard soaps. Love me some Tabac.
No real preference in terms of format, it's the performance that I look for. All things being equal, though, I like hard pucks.
