How Do You Mix Your 444?

Do you mix your 444 in your hand with a splash or do you apply the splash to your face first and then layer with a little 444?

I splash some AS into my cupped palm, add a dab of 444, mix, and apply.

I add a dab of 444, then splash some A/S in my palm and apply. I guess you could do it incomniac's way but it might not work
