How do I apply cologne?

I have SCS New Spice and Bay Rum, how do I apply?

I'm not sure if it goes in armpits, or on my chest, or pulse points, or what.

I've been spraying half a spritz on each arm from the wrist halfway down the forearm, and one on the chest, and occasionally half against my neck (pulse point). That's a lot yeah isn't it....

That's up to you.

I usually do chest and neck... It depends how strong the scent is... The stronger, the less I apply.

I find it's a bit of trial and error with almost every scent and I've got a lot of them.

My max is about 5- chest, wrists, behind ears. That'll be pretty intense for about an hour, but then depending on the frag, it settles in a bit.

BUT if it's an intense scent and that comes on too strong like Anteus or VC&A Pour Homme, I keep to chest and maybe wrists.

There is a fair amount of thought to keep it away from your nose so you don't get olfactory fatigued to the scent...i.e. your nose tunes it out.

One tip an SA gave me was put one it on your back and wrists. Then sometimes you catch a waft of it yourself.

Crease of the elbows and chest for me. Application to my wrists, despite being so highly recommended, burns the fragrance off way too quickly, IMO.

The advise for women is to spray the perfume in the air and walk through it. (subtle and elusive I guess) I find one squirt on the chest is fine. Not everybody likes every scent. You really don't want to be known as the dude who stunk the room up.

just so we are all clear. Is this 'one spray to the chest' to a shirtless chest or to the chest area of your shirt?

Apply VERY lightly. I've used both, and they're very powerful. Good bargains, though.

My rule is a small spritz in the hand, rub together, rub hands on the inner elbows and on the chest. Scents should be subtle; nothing's worse than getting hit in the face with a cologne or perfume shovel.

Bare chest.
If absolutely necessary - at most T shirt.
Don't spray things on a shirt.
They can stain, and the scent can react with the fabric softener, starch or detergent smell.
You'd look odd with a spot of FD&C yellow on the front of your D&G

I prefer bare chest, but there are some that live by a spray on fabric, especially with scents that have longevity issues like Blenheim Bouquet.

Either tshirt, or perhaps collar/cuffs.

There are some frags that will stain a shirt so be careful.

New Spice is really potent, so go easy. One spray on the chest ought to be more than enough.

I have a friend that says it doesn't last long, unlike his $80 cologes that come in bottles shaped like a man's torso with a huge crotchbulge.

Mind you when I used it, an hour or so later it seemed faded to me, and I was real light on it to begin with; however a girl I know said I smelled nice. Hum, I need to find a nice girl and borrow her nose for a while....

I did this for the years I wore cologne.

I'd much rather be the dude who stunk up the room putting it on than the dude who stinks up every room because he's wearing too much!

One spray to the bare chest and one spray to the back of the neck. Any more than that and you're "that guy", the one that everybody runs from and laughs at because he always wears waaay too much cologne.
