Helps about a Gillette slim not functioning

If there any body who can helps me wether its ok to bid on this razor which as the owner says one morning
"it just fell apart"

I would pass on the deal. I know the old Fatboys had an end cap on the handle that could be screwed on and off but I don't think that was ever a feature on the Slims. I think their end cap was machined on and couldn't be removed. Most likely that is what fell off and now there's nothing to hold the razor together. I'm not a machinist but I would guess that the only way you'll be able to get this razor to hold together is something that is beyond most peoples capabilities.
 
If you love tinkering this is your razor because you don't even have to take it apart which I believe is the hard part - second to reassembling of course :biggrin: - when restoring adjustables.
 
I would buy it. After you put the doors back on, insert the spring in the knob. The cap on the end has a crimp that looks like it failed for this guy. Use a needle nose pliers to crimp it back onto the shaft and you should be good to go.

I wouldn't bid over $5 for it. Plenty of whole, functional Slims out there and not too expensive either. Why bother with a basket case?
