Help me choose a strop

Illinois Or premier from fendrihan. I'm leaning toward the 827 Illinois but want way more advice on choosing one. I've got a cheap paddle strop already for practice n paste.

Plus I'm a noob so. Throw me any ideas. Ty

Rup Razor Strops and Tony Miller Strops are both highly regarded. I personally have an Illinois 992 I got off the BST board here and like it a lot, but also wouldn't mind getting one of the above either.

the illinois would work very well. so your job is to figure out what more the other one will provide and if that is worth to you the additional cost.

I'm looking at 2 strops that r the same price. Both are 59.99. One is a 2inch d ring latigo leather. Other is the 827.

Thanks for the sites. I wanted the Tony miller. But it's off my budget b

yeah. unless you get lucky on the bst boards like I did, getting good strops are expensive. I picked up a barely used Straight Razor Designs 3" strop and have to say I like it better than the Illinois one I have.

It just seems 'smoother' to me. YMMV, but if I had to chose between the 2 I'd go SRD...but only just. Either way you won't go too wrong with whatever you chose.

A Tony Miller with a practice strop. The practice is like 7.50USD. The strops from RupRazor would be my second choice. I have looked at a lot of strops including the Dovo's/Col Conk and Illinois strops. They don't even come close.

RupRazors... Or something in the same price range... Don't forget that you will nick the strop like hell until you have enough experience...

Tony miller strops were intriguing. But was afraid of duties and shipping rate. N to be honest. Lol I do want both....... I think I'd prefer a d ring handle

I have tm litigo ans horshide 3in i now have ruprazor paladium and i love this strop it has a nice amount of draw and is as smooth as hell i prefer the d rings for some reason there both nice i would say tony strops are very well made and look the part if you get tm strop i'd recomend linen any day.
