Help ID my ebay purchase?

I just bought this on ebay on a bit of a whim. Can anyone help identify it? Did I pay a reasonable price? I thought I'd take it for the Buy It Now price before anybody else snapped it up. Hopefully it's proved to be a bargain.

Looks like one of the many British Aristocrats. As long as it's in good shape I think you did alright. There are a few guys on here with better knowledge of those who'll certainly be able to narrow it down, especially once you get it in hand and post better pics.

The razor arrived today and it is indeed a #15. It's not in the greatest of shape, it has quite a lot of tarnish and soap scum on it, but hopefully it will clean up okay. I've attached a few pics before I attempt the clean up. Apologies for the quality (or lack of) but it was a bit of a rush job and the light is terrible.

One question I do have regarding the TTO mechanism. It seems to operate by twisting the bottom knob to release the silo doors and then pushing the thread up to open them. Is this how it should be working? Or should it be more like my Slim were twisting the knob also opens the doors wide?

Anyway, I don't have time to start the cleaning this evening. I'm going to watch the football instead. Come on England!

I don't have any experience with that particular razor, but I do have what appears to be its american made cousin, the 30s style Aristocrat. Based on that razor, I think yours should open just like your slim. Twist the knob and the doors should open. You probably should not need to push up on the knob to get it to open. The US made 30s style Aristocrats are notorious for having this specific issue. I don't think there is anything that can really be done about it, but as long as it opens and closes, then you should still be okay. But I'm sure somebody with more knowledge will chime in.

Nice find, by the way. I'm sure it will clean up nicely. Be sure to post some 'after' photos.
