Hanover Shoes

There are a few pair of Hanover Shell Cordovan shoes on eBay. Does anyone know or have experience with hanover shoes?

i saw a write up on Ask Andy but I was just curious to see if anyone owned a pair before.

I haven't heard that name in a long time! I think they made a good shoe.....I think they went out in the '60's...

Haven't heard of them but if they are genuine shell cordovan they would probably be good quality. I can't imagine a cheap manufacturer that cuts corners using shell- they'd use split leather.

Well, I got two pair of shell cordovan Hanover shoes for $150 shipped off of eBay. My cobbler is on standby to take a look at them when they come in to see if they are worth rehabbing or if I should return them. Both of them are burgundy in color, ones a pair of long wings and a pair of bluchers.

We shall see how they look!
