Handle thread adapter

So this is an odd question but I was wondering if anyone knew of some type of female-female thread adapter you could use for razor handles. I purchased a Mach3 handle kit from Woodcraft to make my own handle. The Mach3 part screws on to the handle so I was hoping it would be the m5x0.8 that is pretty standard for safety razors. It ended up being quite a bit too small. I haven't measured it yet but I was wondering if there was some sort of connector or adapter I could use to make it fit.

I don't see the point in using a Mach 3 handle on a vintage razor. It wouldn't feel right holding it in your hand while shaving with a vintage razor. Also, it would look ridiculous! I'm not sure any such adapter exists, but if it's too small maybe you could drill it out a little bigger and thread it.

I think I worded it in a strange way. It's a kit to turn your own handle but it came with a head for a Mach 3 cartridge. The handle bushings have a hole drilled already but the size is incorrect. I would like to turn my own handle for a safety razor and didn't know if I could use this set with an adapter or if attempting is futile. If that's the case then could someone direct me to a nice kit that would work.
