I`ve just got one Yaqi rose gold effort for the dragon`s legs coming next week and a Gillette Tech travel kit landing soon.

Don`t laugh too hard !

It`s described as Yaqi Rosegold Color Brass Heavy Handle Safety Razor for Lady - model - RARG1919 - weighs 83 grams.
Handle is solid brass and head is zamac - both ceramic coated copper colour !
I think it`s pretty and good value.
My GF uses my mild razors and I might take this on a test drive when it comes.

The Gillette travel kit thing with suede case in good nick looks okay to me as well - gorrit for a song - on way - Looks like a Techy thing to me !

YUMA YM-401.jpg

Oh forgot - got this new Turkish Yuma YM-401 with art deco heavy cast zinc handle coming from Bulgaria in a day or two.
It`s an excellent budget scraper
They`re really efficient shavers - I had one ages ago - gave it away - so finally got this.

That looks like a Mellon double open comb razor. You can search here for lots of info about them. Originally an American design from around the 1930s, I think. Try that head on a lightweight handle like a Gillette common bar. It will be better balanced that way.

Gillette Techs got milder over time. Try one from the 1949-1951 era with no date code (NDC) for a bit more aggression and solid brass construction. The 'pre-war' Canadian Tech is a personal favorite and a little more aggressive still.

Yuma is a very good shaver with practice. Quite aggressive, though. That handle looks like it's patterned after an early Merkur.
