Had My First Inkccident Today

Not too bad, but I pull up to the Doctors office, and before going in remember to write something down. Open the Edison Beaumont Pneumatic and a huge blob of ink comes out. On my pad and hand. Thank goodness not all over the seat of my car!

This was after wiping the excess ink off.

What, thats it ? lol

Im so happy you stopped to take a picture, hope it was at least a red light lol

Man i get worse then that flushing and reloading a pen, wait... suddenly i feel bad

Any idea what caused the inky eruption?

I think it was because I had the pen laying on the little shelf in the console above the radio controls. I did not realize it got that warm...

I was in the parking lot of the Doctor. I know, not as bad as some of yours, but it caught me off guard!

I got spillage from my fp's that were filled with Noodlers from airplane travel. The one that had Iroshizuku was the only one that didn't have any issue.

That's really lucky, Dave!

I've never had a pen leak over 3 years of rather frequent flying. I always keep them nib up in the seat back pocket, though.

It was only a little drop of ink... except for the eye dropper Kaweco filled with Lexington Gray. That combo doesn't like air travel.

Had my first leak from flight travel yesterday. Blue Estie SJ with a 3214 F nib leaked waterman purple. Took it out during a meeting, saw the excess and gingerly capped it again. Am off to Atlanta now, so the leak may have doubled when I come to sort it out tonight.

No, no, that was my first thought too. "Pfft, looks like me when filling. And that's when I'm really careful..."

I fidgeted with a piston filler before... Luckily I was wearing black pants and a black shirt with black ink in the pen.

I had something similar that taught me why you don't clip a pen with a screw-cap to your pocket. The cap WILL unscrew itself and the pen will just flop around in there capless, demonstrating all of that lovely capillary action as it contacts your pants. Oh yeah, and it was an eyedropper-filler, so there was plenty of ink to go around (literally).

Luckily it was my black cargo pants (I had the pen in one of the cargo pockets). My thigh looked interesting, though. Children, pets, and fountain pens; three times when you don't want to feel something wet on your clothing.

MY idea of an "inkccident" is something like what went on with my ex, a bottle of Quink blue-black, and his dorm room (rug, chair, anything else nearby...).

I had to stop using Noodler's Eel inks ink my Parker 45, because the part where the nib piece screws in would bleed ink all over. This is especially bad since it bleeds right onto where I normally hold the pen.

I also had a major inkcident while grocery shopping the other day. Preppy with Noodler's Heart of Darkness. Somehow the barrel unscrewed slightly when I took it out of my pocket and it dumped ink all over my hands.

Now that I think about it, the vast majority of my accidents involve Noodler's.
