Gun Oil and straights??

I've read the tutorials. I've also read that alot of folks like Camellia oil as a rust inhibitor/preventive for straights.
I've got a good selection of gun oils around... Break-Free, Tri-Flo, and quite a few others. To me, they seem about perfect for the job of protecting a straight, although they may be more than required because a razor requires no lubrication properties. Still, I've got all these oils on hand..

Is there anyone else in my position that uses gun oils on straights as a rust preventive? And what is the prevailing opinion on same?

Really any oil you can think of will protect the steel. You just want to avoid certain vegtable oils because over time they can go rancid. The issue is when its time to shave do you want to have 3in1 oil on your face? Personally the answer to me is no and I don't want to have to scrub down a razor before use so there are better choices. I use sterol.
