Grind and Shave Closeness

Two quick questions, please. Everything else assumed equal (face, prep, hone/strop,technique (?), etc.), should one grind be able to shave as closely as another? I assume we each may find different grinds more or less comfortable, but should they each shave as closely as any other?

I put a ? by technique because I also wonder if the blade angle for a wedge should be different (steeper?) than a hollow grind?

When properly honed any grind shaves as close as the other.

Heavier grinds like wedges and 1/4 hollows are in general more forgiving to angle than a hollower grind and have therefore often a more mellow feel.

If I skipped shaving for a day or more I prefer a heavier grind, it just mows through the longer stubble without hesitation.
For a daily shave I prefer a more hollow grind but any grind will do just fine.
