I hate to admit I was impressed by Hannah Montana, @Mr. Scruffy but that was good. Her Daddy's influence? I can't hear that song anymore without seeing Jessica Chastain naked in my mind's eye. Not an altogether bad thing, I suppose.

Jimmy McCarthy is a brilliant songwriter, and Christy Moore certainly knows how to interpret them!

@Mr. Scruffy, @Owen Bawn I have another take on Jolene for you here. IMO this young lady imparts a distraught tone of pleading and desperation that fits so well with the lyrics.
