What's new

Got to admit, it's one cool display!

Didnt know they were actually called Rockets by Gillette, assumed it was a nickname that came later.

I am very curious about this razor: is it wat we call Rocket with the thicker knob or is it the razor, that we call Parat. In a few weeks I will know it :biggrin1:

The diameter of the knob looks the same as the handle, like a Parat.
Perhaps there is no distinction between the two, and Parat was just a name given to it in markets where the word 'Rocket' would not do?

in german the word Parat means the same. "Blitzschnell" (fast like a flash):

1) open the doors
2) load the blades
3) ready to shave (Parat)

"Now, we know what happens to little boys who don't eat all of their vegetables, don't we?"

Come on, make up your own. It's fun!

It took me a minute, but the mom and kid are buying dad a new razor for Christmas. is that it?

You know, I took 4 years of German in high school and the only thing I studied were the Clark sisters and napping.

I am very happy to see you won this. I know you will give it a good home.

I always wondered, and now I know. where the name "Parat" came from!

Danke, Herr Achim! Sehr gut, mein Freund!

Achim, I take it that means that you are the buyer of this display? Did you also win the TV Rocket display sold by the same seller?

He mentions in his listing for the TV display that he's selling his late father's collection. The old man sure had a good eye for Mint NOS razors! Maybe he was a B&B member too ... guess we'll never know.
