I figure it comes out to pretty much what a NOS 40s style Rocket would go for. More or less?

Didnt know they were actually called Rockets by Gillette, assumed it was a nickname that came later.

Me too, I assumed the Rocket term came with the Space Age in the 50's and 60's.

I am very curious about this razor: is it wat we call Rocket with the thicker knob or is it the razor, that we call Parat. In a few weeks I will know it

The diameter of the knob looks the same as the handle, like a Parat.
Perhaps there is no distinction between the two, and Parat was just a name given to it in markets where the word 'Rocket' would not do?

in german the word Parat means the same. "Blitzschnell" (fast like a flash):

1) open the doors
2) load the blades
3) ready to shave (Parat)

He mentions in his listing for the TV display that he's selling his late father's collection. The old man sure had a good eye for Mint NOS razors! Maybe he was a B&B member too ... guess we'll never know.
