Ok, thank you. I am new to this. What is the minimum of equipment that I need to buy (my thinking is all I need is the razor and strop)? What should I look for? And how much should I expect to spend on each item? I'm not a rich man, and one of the reasons I became interested in this was because I thought I would save money (the other others are that I thought i'd get less razor burn and wouldn't have to worry about running out of razors).

You just need a strop and a razor. filly strop from Kenrup = best deal as it comes with crox on the back for edge maintenance.

crox is something you put on the strop, like a paste, right?
Yes, it is Chromium Oxide, comes either dry or paste, and is a vibrant green color. It works well for maintaining a shave edge. The Philly comes pre pasted and really is a steal for 20USD.
