What's new

Good deal or too expensive?

This seller's items always seem to be in high demand.
When I saw your OP I thought maybe I was going to see a picture of the tech I was watching from the same seller. It sold today for $52 shipped. That's three times what some other techs go for.

It's a great razor, and this one is a great example. I've had nights where I spent far more than that on goods that literally got pissed away. What you've purchased will be a great razor for a lifetime and more.

That seller's razors always sell for high prices but they're always in great shape. You could have taken a chance on buying 3 other razors that would have added up to more and still not have found one as nice. At least you know what you're getting.
Congratulations.

It looks like it is in excellent condition. As the price and worth of an item can fluctuate a lot based on the condition, it seems to me that you did well. You could have found one cheaper, but only if it wasn't in that good of condition. For what you are getting, I think you did well.

this seller is very reliable and offers a good communication with buyer. I bought a 59' Fatboy from him once and it is in great condition.

The package was very well done which is important for overseas shipping and (I should not say that) indicated a value that avoid the customs fees.

So you pay the price for all those good points.

Even if you mainly go for shave grade vintage razors, it's nice to have one shiny collectible in the bunch. Can't say what the going rate is, but you got a deal where both the razor and the original box are in great shape. The original blade case looks good in the box if you just want to display the razor in between shaves.

Sometimes you really get burned by the cheap prices.
I've bought a few that needed a complete overhaul to make them look decent.
If you want a razor in excellent or mint condition, you have to pay the price.
most of mine are user grade razors. They won't win in a beauty contest.
but they work all the same.

I am always impressed by that seller's photographs, and seemingly complete descriptions. They really seem to care about what they sell, and seem to have the feedback to prove it!

Oftentimes good value is not reflected so much by what you paid, as it is by what you got for your money. Considering you got a really good looking (and fine shaving) razor that has been cleaned and disinfected, a clean and undamaged case, and what looks to be an original blue-blade dispenser containing several NOS blue-blades (I remember my Dad having those...), I'd say it was a fine value.

IMHO, ya done good, my friend!
