Gillette New Long Comb vs. Short Comb

They are pretty much the same, IMO. If you want more aggressive, try the new deluxe, but it isn't quite as smooth. Still good, though.
My SC is a closer shaver than my LC. YMMV.
I keep wondering the same thing. Some people say the LC is much more aggressive, others say the SC is the more aggressive one. I think it depends on your perspective.
The first time I shaved with my New LC, I thought it was extremely aggressive. Prior to that shave, I had been using a Merkur 25C, an R89, Aristocrats and a couple of shaves with a Fat Boy and a Slim set to 3-4. All of these razors (or settings on the adjustables) would be considered mild.
Then I received a 2013 Muhle R41. Holy cow batman was that an aggressive razor. I was determined to master it, which I did partially. I shaved with it for a week, until I had some irritated places and nicks that would just not heal were I to keep shaving with the R41. So, I put it up and didn't shave for a few days. Then, I shaved with the new. By comparison, the New was practically a soft fluffy bunny rabbit. I found a good angle with the New LC and found that it gives me wonderful shaves. It shaves my neck better than anything I have found so far. My neck is always my trouble spot. Strangely, the New gives me problems around my mouth, chin and upper lip, which are area's I've never had problems before. So, I still have a little work to do on my technique in these areas.
I really want to try a New SC, but I think I am going to hold out and try to find a British New LC. I hear great things about the quality of the British Gillette's, so I may post a WTB or something for one of those. I would be interested to hear more opinions on which is more aggressive, the LC or the SC.

The LC is more aggressive. I find that the SC shaves similar to a Tech. For what it's worth, the British NEW LC shaves differently than both and is the superior razor IMO. It's smoother and a tad less aggressive than the American LC NEW.

I also feel that the LC New is more aggressive and I feel that my SC New Deluxe (17mm version) feels about the same as a normal SC New. The New is a very versatile razor and definitely one of my favorites.
It sounds like a SC New is in my future. Perhaps an American AND a British version.
